Coaching Policies

Susan’s Responsibilities

Susan Michalski is responsible for meeting with students at the scheduled time and place or rescheduling the session at least 24 hours before the meeting time. If Susan fails to provide  24-hour notice, an extra 30-minute voucher will be awarded along with rescheduling the original hour session.

For every 1 hour of coaching a student pays for he/she is also awarded 50 pages of editorial reading/review outside of session hours that can be accrued and taken at any time in the course of the coaching relationship. For example: For students beginning a new project the 50 pages per sessions can be saved and used when the draft is complete.

Attendance Policies

Appointments are conducted online on Google Meet by default. If students want to make other arrangements, using Zoom or in person in the Austin area, that may be done on an individual basis.

Students are responsible for meeting with Susan at the scheduled time and place or rescheduling the session at least 24 hours before the meeting time. If the student fails to provide 24-hour notice, they will be charged a rescheduling fee of $25.

Students who are within the Austin area who are meeting with Susan in person may opt to change their appointments from in person to online within 4 hours of the meeting time without penalty. This change must be made via text message.

Payment Policies

All payments for services must be made prior to services being rendered. The following packages are available for purchase. If payment is an issue, please talk to Susan to see if alternative arrangements are possible.

·       Package A: Three 60-minute sessions/150 pages reading-review              $ 240

·       Package B:  Five 60-minute sessions/250 pages reading-review              $ 375

·       Package C: Ten 60-minute sessions/500 pages reading-review                 $ 700

·       Package D: Custom (more than ten sessions $65/session to be paid in blocks)

Packages are agreed upon during the free 20-minute planning and goal setting session and payment is due before the first coaching session. During the planning session, you will set your calendar sessions and receive your google invites for those sessions and a Venmo payment code or some other agreed upon way to convey payment. Refunds are made only in extreme situations involving illness where alternative arrangements cannot be made.

Safe Harbor Statement

By entering into this relationship, you understand that Susan Michalski will be reading and evaluating your written material. Susan respects your ownership and your rights to your idea and the contents of your writings. It is her heartfelt intent to do no harm.

You acknowledge that all writing submitted during the term of this interaction will be written by you and you alone, and you will not represent the work of another author or AI either in substance or concept.

You agree that Susan Michalski, also being an author, may have ideas or content that seems similar to yours, and that said content does not constitute malfeasance. If an idea of yours seems similar to her current or past work, you will be informed before proceeding with coaching on that content. You release her and hold her harmless from any legal disputes over copyright infringement.

Topics I will not be able to assist you with

·           Topics espousing right-wing or hate-based ideologies

·           Topics with gratuitous violence against women or children

I reserve the right to refuse to coach writers on works that include any topic that is uncomfortable or against my beliefs, including topics not on this list.
